A good drill for metal is able to drill a
lot of holes in the hardest materials prior to the expiration of its service
life, thus it should not blunt and, especially, go wrong. Such can be
achieved by performance of the drill only if it is properly matched by the
drilled material is ground is necessarily produced and qualitatively.
Make sure that the drill is made of a
special high-speed steel drill of only this material can retain its properties
at extremely high temperatures encountered in drilling location. High
speed steel necessarily contains molybdenum and tungsten, which provides it
superior durability.
When you select a drill for metal, note its
color. The cheapest are gray drill, they are made of ordinary steel such
drills is very short-lived, and some varieties of steel they simply cannot
cope. Black drills get their color due to additional treatment with superheated
steam, they much stronger than usual. The best drills are carbide drill bits, coated with a rich golden color. This color drill means that it
is covered with titanium nitride, which gives it the highest durability. Drilling
such a tool will be much easier and faster, but its price is higher.
When choosing a drill you need to know what
size hole you want to drill. For sure the drill diameter is given, and
therefore the diameter of the resulting hole with it. Make sure that the
mark begins with the letter P - it will mean that the drill bit made of high
speed steel. Since the drill for metal are usually made of titanium,
cobalt or tungsten alloys, it is necessarily reflected in the marking. BTW, you can buy
the electronic tools or accessories (e.g. nibbler drill attachment) at Banggood for high quality and reasonable prices.
The quality and cutting speed is affected
not only the material from which the drill bit is made, but the quality
sharpening it. Only a well sharpened drill bit is able to cope with the
metal, low-quality drill very fast, very cheap - after the first drilling.
